"Dream to Make Believe" by Debra Macki and team

Dream To Make Believe
Celebrity Make Up Artist Debra Macki once again shows how to create art.  Each year in Las Vegas she hosts a make up academy and during that week, utilizing local talent, they combine their creative genius and pure beauty is achieved.

This year was no different.  Styling for the shoot was Jennifer Henry of Flock Flock Flock, identical twin models Candace and Courtney Reardon, the incredible talents of Photographer, Elise Donoghue and myself, Hair by Andeen.

"Dream to Make Believe"  is the May 2012 cover for Your Beauty Industry.

To find out how Debra created the look for the make up, go to Your Beauty Industry volume 10 and learn how.

As for the hairstyles,  Andeen prepped the hair with UNITE Session Whip, followed with a large round brush Blow-dry.

Once dry, small sections were taken and the UNITE Crimper Iron was used to create extreme volume and texture.

Placing a deep side part Andeen slicked the hair down on each side with UNITE Liqua Versa -Gel, and then a center part was made down the middle of the back of the head.

With each crimped section a large bun was formed and securely pinned.  The texture from the crimping allowed a more secure hold making it easier to form the buns as large as needed.

Once the buns were in place Hair Paint was used to create the dimensional color.
Finishing with UNITE SHINA-MIST

5 simple steps for Red Carpet curls for the woman on the go. Continue reading on Examiner.com: 5 simple steps for Red Carpet curls for the woman on the go. - Las Vegas Hair Care | Examiner.com http://www.examiner.com/hair-care-in-las-vegas/red-carpet-curls-for-the-on-the-go-woman#ixzz1FYHlWe4Z

The Golden Globes, Oscars, and now the opening of Badgley Mischka Flagship Store on Rodeo Drive, soft, sexy and romantic hair graces the Red Carpets.
How to style your hair like the stars, follow these 5 simple steps and Red Carpet hair can be yours.
  1. Prep hair with a styling spray, Depsea Repair Foundation, by Shu Uemura, this is used for dry damaged, sensitive hair.  Cocktail Shu Uemura Ample Angora for volume mid shaft to ends.
  2. Part your hair. Now that your hair has some product in it, choose your part; down the middle or on the side, choose what part flatters your features the most.
  3. Dry your hair, blow dry it 100%. To add volume to your hair in order to make the curls look softer (and not flat), you should scrunch your hair as you dry it. Flip your hair upside down as you dry it for even more volume. If you have natural curls, use a flat brush to straighten the hair before using the curling iron.
  4. Set the soft curls. Using a 1 inch curling iron set the hair, wrapping on the outside of the curling iron to create texture.  Curl mid shaft down for a more a beachy texture look.  Or curl root to ends and pin with large metal duck bill, allow to cool before taking down, for a soft romantic look.
  5. Style your soft curls. Once the curls have set and you're ready to leave, take two minutes to finish off this look. Run your fingers through your hair a few times. Don't use a brush or a comb. Apply a texturizing spray or hairspray to keep the soft curls you've created in place all day.

Every individual’s face has a specific shape, so how do you know what the right bang is for you.  Here are the basic face shapes and what works best.
Square facial shape:  a layered bang that fall to or below your eyebrows are very flattering, especially if they are swept off to the side, add a bit of softness and texture to the ends to enhance the look even more.  Katie Holmes, Sandra Bullock, Mandy Moore, Demi Moore, Audrey Hepburn are amongst the sexy celebrities who have a square shaped face.
Round facial shape:  Start with the main haircut first then move to the bang-aim for long side-swept and wispy bang.  The side bang will help elongate the shape of the face. Cameron Diaz, Kate Moss and Carmen Electra know how to enhance their best features.
Heart shaped face:  Off center or side swept bangs are flattering to the heart shapes high forehead, as it will draw attention to your eyes and cheeks.  Depending on the thickness of the hair, a short wispy bang will also work. The bevel of beauties with heart shaped face, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Murphy and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Last but not least the “perfect” facial shape, Oval- the goal is to add some width and fullness at the sides so that your face looks more symmetrical. But avoid creating too much volume at the top, or you will only make your face look too drawn-out and oblong. Beyonce, Jennifer Garner, Hillary Swank and Sarah Jessica Parker are amongst the A-list celebrities with oval facial shapes.
